RBI eases export paperwork for freelancers, PIB flags a fake RBI circular, and Petronet declares a ₹7 dividend

Tip of the day

Land one brand deal on your own before you sign a manager

Viral Nation's head of creator relations says there is no magic follower count for getting a manager, and she suggests doing at least one sponsorship yourself first. You will learn what you enjoy (pitching, contracts, the content itself) and where you really need help. Then shop around agencies like speed dating: ask each the same questions and compare.

🧭 Reality check: effort & risk

Effort: a few weeks of pitching and back-and-forth emails for one deal. Cost: free, though you handle the contract yourself, so read it carefully. Risk: brands may not reply, and a weak contract can cost you usage rights. Not financial advice.

RBI eases export paperwork for freelancers paid from abroad

    Source: Livemint

The RBI's 2 November 2026 amendment says resident individuals, such as freelancers and YouTubers, are deemed to have filed the Export Declaration Form once they give their bank the payment details needed to credit the money. Other service exporters get the same treatment when the inward remittance is up to ₹10 lakh. The change applies from 1 October 2026.

💬 Why it mattersIf you earn from overseas clients in India, giving your bank complete payment details now covers the separate export form, which cuts paperwork on side income.
