I bonds jump to 5.51%, BSE flags a deepfake stock-tip video, and Substack adds new paywall tools

Tip of the day

Look up an investment firm on the official register before you send money

Scammers now copy real firms' names, addresses and even registration numbers, and lure people through social media ads and WhatsApp groups. Before you transfer anything, find the firm yourself on the regulator's register (the FCA Firm Checker in the UK, Sebi's tools in India, or your country's equivalent) and contact it only through the details listed there. If someone promises quick, extraordinary profits, treat that as the red flag it is.

🧭 Reality check: effort & risk

Effort: about five minutes per firm. Cost: free. Risk: a check lowers your risk but cannot remove it, because clones keep changing their contact details. Not financial advice.
